One-on-One Training Sessions

Our one-on-one options can be scheduled in thirty minute increments for thirty, sixty, or ninety minutes. We charge monthly and schedule monthly. Open slots are first come first serve, but we offer families to schedule their same time slots from the previous month before opening up new slots to the public. Our first session is ALWAYS an assessment that includes, Movement Screen, 3D Motion Capture, Bat Sensor Data, and Ground Force Data. Players are expected to arrive 15 minutes early to execute their custom movement prep.
  • 30 Minute Session: Players will have drills designed based on the initial assessment, depending on season and progression, players should expect a mix of Front Toss, Overhand BP, and Machine.
  • 60 Minute Session: Players will have drills and additional interventions designed based on the initial assessment. Depending on the season and scheduled progressions, players should expect a mix of Front Toss, Overhand BP, Machine, and facing live arms. The biggest difference between 30 minute and 60 minutes sessions is added interventions to address movement deficiencies, and aid in motor learning, while sometimes having an opportunity to face live pitching.
  • 90 Minute Session: Players will have drills and additional interventions designed based on the initial assessment. Depending on the season and scheduled progressions, players should expect a mix of Front Toss, Overhand BP, Machine, and facing live arms. The biggest difference between 60 and 90 minute sessions is the amount of additional interventions, video analysis, and context around the data. A lot of players will do a 90 minute session once per week or once per month while supplementing with shorter sessions in between.

We charge $45 per half hour and do not sell bulk packages. (This price point came from our former best value per session bulk price)

90 Minute 4 on 1 Hitting Groups

Our four on one hitting groups are four athletes per one coach and we run one group at a time. Our first session every month is scheduled for an assessment of all hitters using 3D motion capture, bat sensor data, and ground force data. Once we establish a baseline, each player will have custom training programs specific to their needs even in a small group setting. Other factors will include how many individual sessions, group sessions, and other types of sessions players register for throughout the month so that we come put the most comprehensive plan together for each athlete given all the variables.

Players should expect to do a rigorous movement prep, drill work, and hit off our 3-Wheel machine setups using HitTrax.

We charge $35 per session and charge/schedule one month at a time and do not sell bulk packages.

60 Minute Small Group Throwing Sessions

With our updated facility layout designating a larger area for throwers/pitchers we are happy to announce our small group throwing sessions where 6 players can participate in our arm care/arm strength/maintenance program that has proven to increase velocity, reduce injury, and improve control. Players should expect to do a physical warm up as well as a variety of arm care routines, and drills. We'll document velocity on a weekly basis.

We charge $12.50 per session and do not offer bulk packages. We charge and schedule monthly.

Pitchers can schedule bullpens separately based on their programming. Bullpens will be scheduled in 30 minute slots, and we'll only allow 2 players per slot where we'll document velocity when necessary. This is a great opportunity for players to work on their pitches, and command specifically off the mound. We do charge an additional fee of $25 for the 30 minute bullpen session.

Strength & Conditioning

Our Strength & Conditioning sessions are designed to develop efficient movement patterns, general strength, and power across all planes of motion. We cap each session to 4 athletes at a time to monitor each athlete as well as promote competition to increase focus and intensity. When combined with our hitting and throwing programs we can more efficiently schedule workloads to maximize recovery and create peak performance.

We charge $12.50 per session, this is scheduled and bill one month at a time.

Square 1 System Sessions

Can the SQUARE 1 System™ help me? More than likely! If your issues are related to poor movement quality, and they probably are, the SQUARE 1 System™ will help you. Since motor control deficits make all of us compensate with our movement, everybody can get something out of a SQUARE 1 System™ session. For a very high percentage of our clients, the effects are incredibly noticeable (Testimonials). Most of our clients have already sought out help through conventional modalities and yet received very little to no perceptible benefit. These clients come to us and, within 1-3 sessions, find that their symptoms have been dramatically reduced or totally eliminated with the SQUARE 1 System™.

When doing research with Shawn and his team, we have seen instant and lasting increases in Cognitive Response Time, Bat Speed, and Exit Velocity.

We will schedule and bill monthly. Prices TBD and subject to vary.

2 Hour Weekly Beginner Class

We classify beginners as players who want to improve in all facets of the game but may not be physically, mentally, or emotionally ready for our other more intense programs which we feel has more to do with skill and maturity, rather than age. This program runs once per week for 2 hours and includes, Hitting, Throwing, Movement Development and Basic Strength Training. Our number one goal is to provide a fun but productive learning environment and graduate players into our more advanced classes ASAP. We may ask players to start in our beginner class if there are questions about their readiness for our other programs.

We charge $30 per session, and schedule and bill monthly

Senaptec Motor Skills Training (All Sports)

The Sensory Station is a state-of-art sensory evaluation & training station which assesses 10 visual and sensorimotor skills. In less than 25 minutes, you can determine a players strengths and opportunities to improve and compare their results to their peers. From there training can begin. Our wide database of specific drills allows you to focus on what really maters. And with customization, the possibilities are endless.

We train in 30 minutes slots where
2 players can train at once, 15 minutes of training with our sensory board and 15 minutes of training with our Strobe Glasses.

We charge $15.00 per session, billed and scheduled monthly.

*We recommend twice per week coupled with additional training.

Quality Hit Game Competitions

Quality Hit Game (QHG) using HitTrax Baseball, is a competition where players can compete against themselves and against others. We utilize our 3-Wheel Machines to simulate live pitching where players will have 15 at bats to score as many points as possible. Each ball in play in scored based on the likelihood of a hit along with metrics such as exit velocity and vertical and horizontal launch angle.

We charge $22.50 per session which includes 4 total games or 60 simulated at bats over a 2 hour session competing against up to 8 players. Billed and scheduled monthly.

Bat Fitting

For players 8th grade and older looking to maximize performance of their BBCOR, or Wood Bat Choices. One of our most popular services for our college and professional athletes, selecting the right bat is some of the lowest hanging fruit to increasing performance.

Read more about our Bat Fitting Process HERE.

We charge $45 per fitting.

Bio-Mechanical Assessment

Our Bio-Mechanical Hitting Assessment Includes:
  1. Mobility and Strength Screening
  2. Swing Data using Blast Motion
  3. Kinematic Sequence Testing w/ 4D Motion Sensors
  4. Batted Ball Data with HitTrax Baseball
  5. Video with High Speed camera
  6. Written Report in an easy to read layout, Highlighting Key Performance Metrics and Targeted Areas of Improvement.

Families should expect each assessment to take 30 minutes and can expect to get their written report and the results within one week as it takes us about 90 minutes per athlete to evaluate.

FAQ about Velo-Nation

"Johansen Baseball has been helping my High School Athlete advance his skills, increase the power behind his swing, and most importantly get back his confidence. The staff has taken the time to get to know my son's unique differences and is providing him the techniques - specific to him - that he needs to reach his potential. They have provided my son with an entire program that includes hitting, throwing, strength training, nutrition and even college recruiting. Now my son is gaining muscle, throwing faster, and hitting further; He even hit a grand slam on a college field! Plus, he's had some college coaches interested in him."
